If you already have an account

If you already have an account, you have several options to sign on to the Silver Essence Portal. Which options are available however, is determined by the system administrator. For example, if the system administrator does not want people to use their Yahoo account to sign on, this option can be disabled so it will not show in the Login screen.

Sign in using Name and Password

This option is always available. Enter the name and password as provided by your system administrator. The Username is not case-sensitive, the Password is. Just click the Login button and you're good to go. Unless you made a typo in your Username and/or Password. Don't worry, just try again.

  • How many times can I retry?
    You can try as many times you want. We don't block the account after a number of invalid combinations.
  • Is my password stored secured?
    We encrypt your password for safety reasons. We cannot retrieve your password in case you loose it. In that case, you will have to request a password reset.

Sign in using a Social Media account

If or which options are available to sign on using a Social Media account is up to the system administrator. We currently support Google, Facebook or Yahoo accounts to sign on to the Essence Portal. Just click the option you want to use. Possibly you might need to give permission to use your Social Media account for this. This means you give us permission to retrieve your email address, which is used in association with your user account. We don't require any additional permissions, other than this.

  • After choosing the Google option, I need to select an account. Why is that?
    This is the case if you are logged into Google using linked accounts. For example if you have a personal and a professional account. Just click the account you use for the Essence Portal and you are good to go.

Creating a new account

To create a new account, you need to know the link to the sign-up page for that portal. Typically a system administrator can provide you with the right link. If you use that link, the button to create an account will be visible in the login screen. From here you have 2 options.

You can click the "Create new account" button and enter a username, password (twice for validation purposes) and email address. By submitting this, your account will be created and an email is send to the email address you provided. By default your account is not activated. Use the activation link in the email we send you to start using your account.

You can also click one of the Social Media options, if available. You will need to give permission to use that account for sign on. This means you give us permission to retrieve your email address, which is used in association with your user account. We don't require any additional permissions, other than this. After you give permission, your account is created and you can start using it right away.

  • I created an account, but I have limited access. Why is that?
    First your user account is created for access purposes only. Then we try to match that user account automatically to the roles and rights provided in the portal. If we cannot make a match, the system administrator has to provide you with the correct roles and rights. Until that's done, you can access the Essence Portal but functionality is limited.

Reset your password

Because we encrypt your password, there is no way for us to retrieve it. If you have forgotten your password, just click the link in the login screen. Enter the email address you use for the Essence Portal and click Reset. We will then send you an email with a link to reset your password. If you follow the link from that email, you can enter a new password. You can now enter the Essence portal using that password.

Frequently Asked Questions:
  • I saved the email message from last time, but resetting doesn't work. Why is that?
    The link in the email can be used only once to change a password. If you forgot the password another time, you need to request a new password reset from the login screen.
  • I just want to change my password. Does it have to be by email?
    If you just want to change it, you can also do that from the menu bar in the Essence portal. Just select System, User Setting and change your password there.
