3. Properties

1. Introduction

Each BaseEntity consists of a number of Properties. If a BaseEntity is derived from a database, each Property would refer to a single column from the targeted table. Similar, if the BaseEntity is derived from an OData webservice it would refer to a Property in the datasource topic.

When the BaseEntity is created and Properties are added, as much as possible is already configured. Because not all business logic that is required for the configuration might be exposed, some additional manual configuration is required per Property. To configure these properties, open the Silver Editor and go to Mapping, BaseEntities and select the BaseEntity you want to configure. On the right, expand the Properties Panel if not yet open.

BaseEntity: Maintenance

From the list of Properties in the BaseEntity, select the Property you want to edit. On the right, there are a few panels available, each containing a subset of what you can configure for this Property. These panels are:
  • Attributes
This panel allows you to maintain the basic settings for the Property.
  • Label
This panel allows you to maintain the naming of how this Property is displayed in the User Interface of the Silver Essence Portal.
  • Input
This panel allows you to maintain the input behavior within the User Interface of the Silver Essence Portal
  • Domain
This panel allows you to maintain Domain specific settings for this property.
The following pages will explain each separate panel in detail.
